Hi! My name is Franziska and I am a freelance designer based in Wellington.

Originally from Germany, I have spent nearly ten years in New Zealand and hold a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design (Honours) degree from Massey University. After completing my degree and an internship at the agency Insight Creative in 2017, I worked as a freelance designer in Melbourne, Australia. Throughout 2018, I was based in my hometown Munich, Germany, where I was employed at a vintage bicycle shop as a designer, social media strategist and, on occasion, a mechanic. I returned to Wellington at the start of 2019 and have been working with other local designers and studios. Some of these include Celeste Skachill from StudioC, Chris Jackson from We Create Futures as well as studios like Storybox and Fahrenheit among others.

I really enjoy facilitating and planning Co-Design workshops, have professional experience with Service Design and a strong focus on Brand Identity, Editorial Design and Typography. I critically consider the strategic thinking behind visual solutions and have a human-centred approach to design. I am also fascinated by Environmental Graphic Design – a field I was introduced to through a University project and my membership with the Society of Experiential Graphic Design of America. EGD combines my interest in visual communication, the urban environment and people to apply graphic design in ways which create a spatial narrative.
